His experience spans across internal and external communications, with deep know-how in employee engagement and change, and he has led in-house communications functions at country, divisional and global level for Barclays and GlaxoSmithKline. His most recent in-house role was Global Head of Internal Engagement at GSK, helping engage 100,000 employees around the world during a period of substantial transformation, increasing employee involvement and releasing energy for change.
Lina Perdomo – Director of Internal Communications Digital Channels at Schneider Electric
An experienced internal communicator, Lina Perdomo has worked in many roles covering the full spectrum of the craft. Two years ago, she took the newly created role of Director of Digital Channels at Schneider Electric, focusing on the performance and roadmap of all digital internal communications for the +140,000 employees of the company. She leads a team of employee experience experts that translate strategic messaging into digital engagement with an obsessive focus on measurement. Throughout her career, she has worked with senior leaders in a variety of topics ranging from communications strategy, thought leadership, employee development and change management. Lina recently celebrated her 10th year anniversary at Schneider Electric. She’s based in Munich, Germany, home of the best beer gardens and entry point to the German Alps.
Sian Cargan – International Internal Communications Director at CDK Global
CDK Global are the leading provider of software for the automotive industry, with employees in over 30 countries and customers spread across the globe. Sian joined CDK Global (then ADP) in 2014 as Internal Communications Manager. Responsible for building an international communications strategy that would engage Associates in 27 countries worldwide, Sian has established new channels, hosted global events, and worked closely with the Engagement team to launch a new survey and extend the reach of communications through a network of Champions.
Rob Shimmin – Managing Director at Shimmin Communication
Rob is a communications consultant and executive coach with close to 30 years experience building and protecting corporate brands and more latterly, personal brands as a Henley Business School qualified coach. He formed Shimmin Communications in 2004 after ten years with Ogilvy PR where he was Managing Director of Europe, Middle-East and Africa. As a coach, Rob works with senior executives to create, build and protect their personal brands. He involves psychologists, his clients’ 360 degree network and coaching skills to identify the gap between perceived and desired personal brand attributes before coaching behaviours designed to deliver a stronger personal brand.

The conference was insightful, and speakers gave nice high level views of how they approach internal comms. Very interesting to hear how different people in different organizations approach internal comms, as there are still quite some variations - Dublin 2019
