The award celebrates communicators who achieve outstanding results in employee communications and engagement. Tony was selected for his leadership in elevating BNY’s internal communications through data-driven insights, personalization at scale, strong governance, and close collaboration with IT, using Poppulo as a key enabler of that success.
Within his first six months, Tony partnered with IT to strengthen BNY’s people-data integration, which supports the firm’s new platform-based operating model.
These improvements have powered more precise audience targeting and deeper analytics, allowing for greater personalization at scale and giving the organization a clearer view on the impact of communications across the business.
In parallel, he tightened governance and enablement, right-sizing use of Poppulo versus Outlook, onboarding new senders with shared templates, and shifting stakeholders toward intranet page-based content to enable holistic measurement.
These efforts by Tony and his team are delivering exceptional results. BNY’s employee communications are now outperforming industry peers, achieving engagement rates of up to 84%—a massive 16% above the industry average.
Accepting the award, Tony Rejman said:
"This recognition really belongs to the team and it’s a reflection of their dedication and commitment to driving meaningful progress. People like Tawnya Pirch have led the way in training, community building, and governance, and their effort has made a real difference."
"Our partners in IT and the Poppulo team have also been incredible—helping us use the platform in smarter ways to reach the right people with the right messages and give leaders clearer insight into what truly connects with employees. I’m very proud of what we've achieved together," he said.
Commenting on Tony’s achievement, Ruth Fornell, CEO of Poppulo, said:
“Tony and his team have shown how combining communication, data, and technology can transform employee engagement. Their disciplined approach to governance, integration, and analytics is driving impressive results, but even more importantly, it’s strengthening connection and alignment across BNY.”
