We’ve been raising a glass or two again here at Poppulo following the latest in a string of successes – this time being named a global leader in employee engagement software by the independent research company, G2 Crowd.
Not only that, but their 2018 Fall Report also recognized Poppulo as a ‘Leader’ in email tracking and placed our platform in the ‘High Performance’ category for Team Collaboration.
The independent validation came at the end of a financial year packed with illustrious new customers and sector-leading initiatives, including Poppulo Communicator Forums in Dallas, London, Zurich, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Boston, and Dublin – as well as our own customer summit in London, following last year’s event in Chicago.
And, along the way, we also added a mobile app to our powerful suite of communication and engagement solutions used by many of the world’s most successful organizations, including Nestlé, Johnson Controls, Unilever, Tata Motors, Rolls-Royce and nine of the top 20 pharma companies.
In addition, we have just completed a fascinating piece of research into employee communications in the US and Europe, the results of which will be published shortly.
The timing is appropriate because the role of internal communications as a crucial influencer in employee engagement – and therefore success – is increasingly being recognized and this is set to continue.
The rapidly changing and increasingly diverse workplace will further challenge stubbornly low levels of engagement – currently only a third of workers globally are engaged with their organizations, according to Gallup.
Low engagement combined with the twin difficulties of skilled employee acquisition and retention when there’s a global talent shortage, means organizations have to recognize that they must deliver a first-rate employee experience if they are to be successful. They have to realize employee experience (EX) is key to the customer experience.
And if anybody doubts how critical EX is, research by IBM’s Smarter Workforce Institute has found that organizations that score in the top 25% on employee experience report nearly three times the return on assets and double the return on sales compared to organizations in the bottom quartile.
EX means employees feeling a greater connection and belonging in an organization, as well as enjoying a sense of purpose and understanding of why their work matters. And communication is key to achieving this.

Almost 9 out of every 10 user reviews of Poppulo on the G2 Crowd site gave the software either a five star or a four star ranking, with one reviewer saying ‘Poppulo is not just a valuable tool, it’s invaluable insight” and another commenting “it’s by far the best from its competitors.”
