Beacon Health System's Kylee Kendall wins Poppulo Impact Award for Leader-First Strategy
Poppulo is pleased to announce that Kylee Kendall, communications specialist at the US nonprofit healthcare provider Beacon Health System, is the latest recipient of the Poppulo Impact Award.

The Awards celebrate communicators who achieve outstanding results in employee communications and engagement. Kylee was chosen for her highly successful leader-first strategy at Beacon, which gives nearly 600 managers early access to weekly updates plus talking points and FAQs, helping them answer questions and reinforce messages with confidence.

Those same updates, through the Beacon Connection newsletter, now reach more than 10,000 associates each week as a single source of truth, and the results have been exceptional.

The leader edition records a 93% open rate and 44% click rate. The associate edition reaches more than 10,000 people each week and gets a 25% higher engagement rate compared with the healthcare industry benchmark. It underlines just how much the newsletter has become a fundamental part of life at Beacon Health.

The impact is felt in culture as well as metrics. In Beacon’s most recent engagement survey, the share of associates who said their work makes a positive impact in the community rose by 11 percentage points year over year.

Leaders call the newsletter their ‘cheat sheet’ for team conversations, and associates missed it immediately when one edition was diverted into spam—proof that the channel has become part of their routine and a source of connection

Accepting the award, Kylee Kendall said: “It is an honor to receive the Poppulo Impact Award on behalf of Beacon. This recognition reflects the incredible leaders and associates at Beacon who make the Beacon Connection what it is today."

Their feedback shaped it, and together we’ve built a single, trusted source of truth that improves awareness and strengthens connection across our system. I am thankful for the partnership with Poppulo, which has helped our associates feel informed, supported and proud of the work we do to serve our communities — Kylee Kendall

Commenting on the impact of Kylee’s work at Beacon, Poppulo CEO Ruth Fornell said:
“Kylee has created a trusted way of keeping people connected and this is an important achievement—especially at a time when so many are craving connection and a sense of belonging in today’s uncertain world.”

“The Beacon Connection has become part of the rhythm of life at Beacon, with leaders using it to guide conversations and associates relying on it as a source of clarity. Those engagement rates tell their own story, but what matters most is the trust this channel now carries across the organization,” said the Poppulo CEO.
