While consistently using an up-to-date internal email list is a good start, you need access to data beyond that to really personalize. Employee data fields (e.g. titles, functions, paygrade, location, etc) can be used to create personalized content that will really engage staff members.
You need data to personalize. Start this process by conducting an audit. What employee data fields do you currently use? How do you target corporate email? Could you access better quality data? Surveys show that the majority of communicators access data from their HR department, with the second most common source being IT. If you’re not already, see if you can collaborate with these departments to arrange ongoing access of up-to-date data.
